The  mission of Scholastic is to encourage the intellectual and personal growth of all children, beginning with literacy, the cornerstone of all learning.  Currently, Scholastic provides an abundance of learning resources, e.g. books for schools and families. 

PBS Parents

PBS Parents is a trusted resource that’s filled with information on child development and early learning. It also serves as a parent's window to the world of PBS KIDS, offering access to educational games and activities inspired by PBS KIDS programs.

Bright Stars Reading Club

​The mission of Bright Stars Reading Club is to help 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students develop a love and interest for reading in a fun and informal setting.

National Alliance for Youth Sports 

The National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) is America's leading advocate for positive and safe sports and activities for children. Today, NAYS offers programs and services for everyone involved in youth sports experiences, including professional administrators, volunteer administrators, volunteer coaches, officials, parents and young athletes.



Athletics (Local)


The LA84 Foundation conducts local youth sports and coaching education programs throughout the year. It also has a state-of-the-art research facility and learning center dedicated to the advancement of sports knowledge and scholarship. Additionally, the foundation also maintains a sizable collection of historic sport art and artifacts.

Kids in Sports

Kids In Sports (KIS) is a nonprofit public charity whose mission is to provide high quality, affordable sports opportunities for underserved youth while encouraging community and family involvement through the formation and management of sports clubs in Los Angeles County.

Community Service (National)

Volunteer Match 

Volunteer Match offers a variety of online services to support a community of nonprofit, volunteer and business leaders committed to civic engagement.

Hands On Network

HandsOn Network, an enterprise of Points of Light, is the largest network of 250 volunteer action centers that extend to 16 countries around the world. These centers help people find and engage in volunteer opportunities in their local communities.

United We Serve

United We Serve is a nationwide service initiative that aims to both expand the impact of existing organizations by engaging new volunteers in their work and encourage volunteers to develop their own "do-it-yourself" projects.

Volunteer Los Angeles, a service of Assistance League of Southern California, is a growing organization committed to building a strong, viable network of concerned and compassionate people who believe volunteer action creates needed change and elevates our sense of community.
