Local Business Support: Thank you Lowes for your recent donation towards our scholar's beautification project at the academy. Our scholars are one step closer to creating an outdoor space that instills a sense of pride in where they learn.
Community Hero Award: Our co-founder & executive director, Alexis Coleman, was recently recognized by the Los Angeles Clippers for her great work in the community with the "Community Hero" award! Thank you Los Angeles Clippers for your recognition.
State Farm Good Neighbor Grant Recipient: In July 2020, State Farm Insurance in partnership with Florence Harrison, Agent, announced Urban Scholar Academy as a recipient of its "Good Neighbor Citizenship" small funding grant.
Red Backpack Fund Grant Recipient: In June 2020, GlobalGiving selected Urban Scholar Academy as one of 1,000 women-owned businesses from around the nation to receive a COVID-19 grant from Sara Blakely, CEO & Founder of Spanx! Thank you for the consideration!

Founded in 2012 by Inglewood residents & parents, Imhotep & Alexis Coleman, Urban Scholar Academy is a non-profit organization whose mission is to transform the lives of urban youth (K-12th grade) through academic enrichment and community service opportunities.
